Thermy Therm’s mobile café

The husband and wife team of Brother Therman and Sister Dorrana Muhammad are the owners and operators of Thermy Therm’s Café in Phoenix.

Bringing delicious cuisine to the Valley of the Sun!

Thermy Therm’s Café, a mobile food truck serving lip-smacking cuisine, is not only a labor of love, but it is truly a family affair. It was brought to fruition through a vision, hard work and opportunity. Many entrepreneurs were born resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time, leisure travel had come to almost a halt, tremendously effecting the airline industry.

Brother Therman Muhammad of Phoenix, Arizona, had a career in the airline industry for 28 years, which included working as a line cook for eight years for one airline. He noticed the negative impact the shutdowns were having on the industry, and that’s when he made the decision to retire.

Upon retirement, Brother Therman reflected on his younger years growing up in Oakland, Calif., watching his mother and grandmother cook. As he got older, he and his friends would use cooking to compete with one another. His passion and love of cooking, along with the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad to “do for self,” led Brother Therman and his wife, Sister Dorrana, to start a mobile food café.

With the purchase of a customized food trailer, Thermy Therm’s Café was created, and is fast becoming a family-owned and operated local favorite.

Thermy Therm’s Café caters events and was a featured vendor over the summer at Weekends at the Oasis which showcases local food truck vendors in Phoenix. The couple made Tuscan salmon and brisket as dinner choices, with their top dessert, peach cobbler rolls.

Assisting the husband-and-wife team, are the couple’s 24- and 29-year-old sons, Jamil and Joel. The Muhammad’s future goals include acquiring a second food truck their sons would operate. The couple’s young granddaughters also assist with the family business on the weekends.

Specializing in original creations such as the PHX (Phoenix) Cheesesteak, Thermy Therm’s Turkey SMASH Burger, the Johnnie Mae (Brother Therman’s mother), and the peach cobbler roll. Other menu items include: grilled salmon cheesesteak, whiting fish sandwich, and grilled salmon and veggies.

“Our salmon cheesesteak is our best seller,” stated Sister Dorrana.

Customers of Thermy Therm’s café have made their feelings known. “The PHX cheesesteak was to die for, and the special sauce gave it the right amount of zest,” posted Aubria Baker.

Brother Therman and Sister Dorrana shared another mission of the mobile food café is being able to assist Muhammad Mosque №32 of which they are both longtime members and also to help the homeless.

Sister Dorrana’s parents are longtime Nation of Islam pioneers becoming prior to 1975. Her mother, Sister Joyce Muhammad, worked in the home of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Her father, Brother Joel Muhammad, was mosque secretary and at one point served as minister of Mosque №32.

Step out on faith while you have your health. Allah will bless you. We have received an overwhelming amount of support from the Believers (Muslims), here in Phoenix.

Thermy Therm’s menu already consists of a plethora of appetizing options; however, they are always adding one of their original creations and continue serving customer favorites like macaroni and cheese.
